Well, for the last one it could be argued that we're getting how River is reading the Doctor. It might not be that he's so warped but that River can't control what she sees so she gets a lot of the bad stuff.
It's really funny, to me, how most people seem to prefer the shorter pieces (Ace tossing the nitro 9, Zoe and Four, and River). I suppose I tend to be better at the drabbley pieces.
