L is for the way you look at me
The Doctor had noticed his companion’s entrance quite awhile ago and had waited for words that had never come. He’d expected a greeting, at least. Still, he let her be and continued messing about with the Trinlaksivian loop he’d found in storage. It was the perfect thing for the TARDIS console.
Caught up his tinkering, he simply enjoyed Rose’s presence. Once finished, he looked up and lost his breath (no small feat for his complex respiratory system) at the look on her face.
Soft, full smile full of affection which made him answer in kind and bright eyes which were focusing on him completely, with much more than affection.
“Rose?” he asked, unable to say anything else under the concentration of that heated gaze.
Eyelids fluttered and her smile turned into happy grin. “Well, about time you noticed I was here.”
“I always notice when you’re here,” the Doctor ‘s voice was barely above a whisper.
Rose glowed.
O is for the only one I see
Rose stared, completely entranced by the ethereal beauty of the beings on the planet Auelinde. They were, she imagined, what that bloke who wrote The Lord of the Rings had in mind when he thought of elves.
“They’re beautiful,” she whispered as they fluttered about, light as air, in an intricate and graceful dance.
“That they are,” The Doctor answered.
Rose looked away from the spectacle and faltered for a moment. The Doctor, instead of watching the dancing was staring at her steadily.
He smiled, eyes bright with moonlight, much more beautiful than any elf.
V is very very extra-ordinary
“Rose Tyler, you are a marvel.”
Rose laughed, pleased with the compliment. “We haven’t even saved a planet today. What’d I do?”
“Everything,” the Doctor answered solemnly.
Rose beamed, brighter than any star. “Takes one to know one.”
E is even more than anyone that you adore can
“Rose? Did you know there isn’t a word in any language I know that manages to say even half the things we are? Language is so imprecise; even my own, despite it having thousands of--”
“I know.”
“You do? Of course, you do. Always knew you were clever.”
“Not so bad yourself.”
