“Is there something you wish to ask me, Daidouji-san?” Eriol questioned as he accompanied her on a walk, pointedly not acknowledging the bodyguards that followed them at a discreet distance.
“You have all of Clow-sama’s memories, correct?” Tomoyo asked tentatively, unsure how her question would be received.
“I do,” Eriol confirmed.
“Why--were all the cards created for a purpose?”
Eriol smiled. “Much of it was curiosity, wanting to know whether the task could be accomplished, and for Sakura, of course. But I do admit that some were the product of frivolity.”
“Oh?” Tomoyo arched an eyebrow, her expression one of appeal and interest.
“The Snow, for example,” Eriol began.
“The Snow? But she’s so ferocious!”
“Well, The Snow was created for a different purpose altogether.” Eriol finished with his usual mysterious smile.
“And what would that purpose be?” Tomoyo asked teasingly.
Eriol’s smile widened.
Tomoyo gasped at the sensation of ice and cold melting on her cheek. She looked up at the sky, watching as flurries of snow descended gracefully.
“To impress a pretty girl,” Eriol answered.
