He watched her dance beneath the naked branches of slumbering trees. Her golden hair was a bright beacon against the bright white expanse that surrounded them. Her cheeks were flushed and her smile wide and joyous. The cares of her duties were—momentarily—not her first concern.
She glowed.
Happiness infused her every movement and the cold seemed to not touch her. Instead, she brought life to the snowy woods.
Like she’d done for him.
“Kunzite!” He caught her as she barreled into him, joining in her reckless laughter.
“Venus!” he howled as snow made its way into his clothing.
“Catch me!” she teased as she fluttered away, steps nimble and light.
He chased after her smile.
