“Rodney!”

Rodney looked up from his work at an incensed Sheppard. “What?”

“What the hell have you been telling Jeannie?”

“Telling--? What are you talking about?”

John glared. “Dave just sent me an e-mail, confirming Christmas plans for seven people.”

Rodney just looked more confused. “I don’t, what? You’re not making any sense!”

“Apparently, my brother and your sister have been busy, e-mailing each other. Jeannie told him I was injured and between the two of them, they’ve planned out our Christmas! So what have you been telling Jeannie?”

“What? Oh, you have got to be kidding me! You can’t blame this on me! I had nothing to do with this,” Rodney argued. “I just tell her when you guys end up in the infirmary. Just like I know you tell her when I’m in there,” he accused.

John slumped. “Well, get your crap in order. We have 2 weeks leave for Christmas fun at Chez Sheppard. Jeannie, Maddie and Kaleb are coming too,” he added.

Rodney groaned. “We’re doomed.”

“They complained like children,” Teyla said.

Dave Sheppard turned from his surveillance to the serene woman who had accompanied his brother for the holidays. She was swaying, lulling her baby boy into sleep.

“Pardon?” he questioned.

Teyla smiled. “John and Rodney,” she clarified. “Their whining was quite incessant and now…well they are still like children.” She shook her head with amusement as she continued to watch the scene.

“Sounds like my brother,” Jeannie spoke up from her spot. “Big brothers,” she muttered with a disgusted sigh and a commiserating smile.

Dave couldn’t help but chuckle and nod in agreement. “I’d say John was going through a mid-life crisis except he’s always been this way.”

“Perhaps we should save them?” Teyla suggested.

Jeannie sighed. “I guess.”

“I’ll get Susan and start making hot chocolate.” Dave made his retreat.

“Coward,” Jeannie called out teasingly before turning to the group outside. “Girls! You’ve slaughtered your uncles! It’s time for hot chocolate!” Jeannie shouted.

Madison, Julie and Becca stopped their coordinated assault on John and Rodney, looking up to their leader for orders.

“Go on, you got ‘em good,” Ronon praised gruffly.

The girls cheered and rushed towards the promise of hot treats.

Ronon’s smug smirk and arched brow merited him glares from the thoroughly soaked and powdered duo.

“You’re going to regret this,” John promised as he tried to shake off the massive amounts of snow that he’d been pelted with.

Rodney snorted. “We got beaten by little girls, Sheppard. He’s not going to be the one regretting anything.”

“We got beaten by little girls and Ronon,” John disputed.

“Whatever. I need hot chocolate, warm clothes, and lots of marshmallows” Rodney grumbled.

---------

“I’m glad you came,” Dave confessed in a low voice.

Looking at the mass of people, his family, as they talked and laughed and shouted, John couldn’t help but agree.

“Yeah. Me, too.”
