Character(s): John Sheppard. Daniel Jackson

Author’s Notes: For [livejournal.com profile] enigel's request for 'John and Daniel in Atlantis.' (Rodney's there in spirit). It's set after "The Lost Tribe". 9 spots still open on my Advent Calender if anyone cares to request free fic. The mind boggles that so many people just don't want any. Or maybe it's just my fic...hmmm.

“Ready to go?” John asked.

Jackson made a sound, something between a sarcastic ‘ha’ and a snort. “No,” he said.

It was the shortest answer John had heard him give since he’d arrived on Atlantis.

“Guess it’s not enough time, huh?” John stepped closer to the balcony’s railing, staring out at the vista as Jackson was. At Atlantis in her nighttime splendor where moonlight lit the dark towers and bright lights illuminated the rest, glowing brightly like Christmas lights adorning the awesome, most technologically advanced Christmas tree ever.

“A lifetime isn’t enough,” Jackson murmured fervently.

John didn’t know how to answer. Not because he didn’t agree (he agreed completely), but because he and Jackson barely knew each other and he sucked at the comfort thing (though not as bad as McKay, thank god).

He settled on an answer. “Can’t say I’m not glad to see you go, though.”

Jackson turned to him, arched eyebrow and slightly pissy/amused expression. “Why is that, Col. Sheppard?”

John grinned. “I’ve been getting these weird e-mail threats about what’ll happen to me if you get kidnapped again in the Pegasus Galaxy. From a large amount of people. They’ve become exceedingly more explicit the longer you stay here. There were animations. I might have to have Ronon open any boxes I receive in the future.”

Jackson laughed. “They can’t be that bad.”

John shook his head. “I’ve met Teal’c, remember? He says his years as First Prime were a regrettable experience but useful all the same.” This time the shudder wasn’t faked.

Jackson hadn’t stopped grinning. “I could invite--”

“NO!” John felt his face turn red at the look on Dr. Jackson’s face. “Like the IOA would let SG-1 leave the Milky Way for any extended amount of time,” he said, trying to save face.

“No, but a holiday vacation would be nice,” Jackson mused aloud.

John made a mental note to e-mail O’Neill ASAP so this new development could be headed off. There was no way Jackson was coming back anytime soon. Rodney got abducted often enough without adding Jackson’s bad mojo to the mix.

Huhu, sounds like someone needs a holiday too. Maybe John should take a holiday on Earth if SG-1 really comes to Atlantis.

Cute Fic. Love it.

LOL. He so totally should.

"You guys are coming to Atlantis? Okie-dokie. Guys, pack it up, we;re going to get as far away from here as possible before we caught in the backlash. Call us when you're gone. Don't blow up my city. Completely."
